Quietly Powerful: The 2018 Ford Mustang GT

You want a powerful car. Who doesn't? We don't think there are many drivers who wouldn't enjoy a roaring V8 engine on a long stretch of highway.

The problem is that not every road is a long stretch of highway. When you're driving in a quiet neighborhood, it can pay to have tools available to turn down the volume. That’s why the 2018 Ford Mustang GT has new "Quiet" options.

Leaving early in the morning and don't want to wake the neighbors? Switch on the GT's Quiet Start option and reduce your car's starting growl to a gentle purr. Likewise looking for a way to keep your engine quiet while you cruise the streets of your neighborhood? Quiet Exhaust mode works the same way, closing the car's engine valves to minimize noise to a barely noticeable 72 decibels.

Best of all is the level of control these Quiet options deliver. Not only are they easy to switch on and off, you can also set up persistent time windows where they'll trigger automatically. That way you don't even have to think about it.
